Product Description
Paragon Q11 Xpress Kiln - Ceramics, Base Metal Clay, Porcelain and more
Paragon Express Q11 Kiln - expand your creative horizons and work with most ceramics, porcelain, glass, and base metal clay! The Paragon Q11 Kiln is perfect for firing a wide range of materials including silver, porcelain, base metal clays, enamel, glass, and ceramics with a max temperature of 1288ºC (2350°F) or Cone 10.
Our Paragon Express Q11 Kilns are exclusively available in BLACK. We have found the black is the ideal colour for higher temperature kilns, as it doesn't show dirt, or smoke or heat fumes which may discolour other lighter colours.
No need to wait for the kiln to be built and arrive from Texas, USA, if it shows in stock here we have stock in our Dorset warehouse in the UK. Order before 1pm and it is shipped from us the same day!
Ideal for base metal clay work - this work horse of a kiln is designed to cope with the higher temperature, longer and slower firings needed to succeed with bronze, copper, steel and iron clay. When the heating elements need replacing, it is simply a case of replacing the heating element wires with new ones - rather than having to replace the entire muffle like you would on a SC2.
As the kiln opens from the front it is great for vitreous enamelling. It is popular with potters who want to do a quick glaze or clay body test, without firing up a large potter's kiln.
The thick firebricks store plenty of heat for slow cooling, making it great for glass fusing. For smaller glass work, like little cabochons for jewellery, you don't even need to turn on the heating, they can just cool down in the turned off (un-opened) kiln.
Make small ceramic bowls and mugs, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, and beads. Play with glass fusing, sagging, and slumping. Test glass compatibility, ceramic glazes and firing temperatures before making larger pieces requiring your larger kiln.
The Xpress-Q-11A comes with the Sentry TouchXpress digital controller, set into the kiln base (instead of a side switch box) to save table space. The Sentry TouchXpress controller is packed with features. You can use it with either Cone-Fire or 8-segment Ramp-Hold modes.
You can open and close the door easily with one hand, thanks to the easy-to-use door latch
And to top it off, the Q11 is a perfectly sized to sit even on a smaller worktop! It is a great multipurpose kiln.
Reliable construction
This kiln is built to last. Elements are coiled from the finest high-temperature wire available. They use heat-dissipating element connectors refined and proven over many years in Paragon kilns.
A 1/2” hole is stamped into the steel door case, with a brushed stainless steel cover. The firebrick behind the hole is undrilled so if needed, you can drill it to the exact size that you want - this might be for a peephole (please protect your eyes), vent hole, or pyrometer hole. Most people do not need the hole and leave the firebrick undrilled.
- 2 ½” insulating refractory firebricks
- Safety switch mounted on all kilns sold by Metal Clay UK, meaning the power is cut to the heating elements when you open the door.
- Dropped, recessed brick grooves protect the element for long life.
- This kiln is built to last with insulating firebricks, able to fire hotter for longer, and keeping plenty of heat.
- Vented switch box, heavy duty wiring for years of reliable service.
- Heavy-duty steel stand with mar-proof feet
- Max temperature of 1288ºC (2350°F).
- Exposed heating elements are easily replaceable, making servicing and repairs easy.
The reliable Sentry TouchXpress controller is packed with features.

Thermocouple
The thermocouple senses temperature inside the kiln. It is the small rod that extends into the firing chamber. The ¼” wide Type-K, 14-gauge, exposed-tip thermocouple is made with special-limit wire for superior accuracy. The exposed tip gives the controller a fast response time for even temperatures during holds.
Designed for production
Paragon’s 12 month warranty is not affected by frequency of use. Fire your new kiln every day if you want, even in commercial settings. That will have no effect on the warranty period.

Q11 kiln review
This is a brilliant kiln, fast firing, easy to use and looks slick. I’m a professional sculptural ceramist and jeweller and can honestly say this is the best kiln I have ever used. As well as manikins jewellery I purchased this kiln to make metal clay sculptures and experiment with combining ceramics and metal clay together. So far every firing has been a dream. Cant recommend this kiln enough.
