Product Description
Paragon Caldera Kiln - expand your creative horizons and work with ceramics, porcelain, glass, and base metal clay! The Paragon Caldera Kiln is perfect for firing a wide range of materials including silver, porcelain, base metal clays, enamel, glass, and ceramics with a max temperature of 1290ºC.
Our Paragon Caldera Kilns are exclusively available in BLACK.
No need to wait - we carry stock in our warehouse in the UK!
Ideal for base metal clay work - this work horse of a kiln is designed to cope with the higher temperature, longer and slower firings needed to succeed with bronze, copper, steel and iron clay. Make ceramic bowls and mugs, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, and even bracelets. Play with glass fusing, sagging, and slumping. Test glass compatibility, ceramic glazes and firing temperatures before making larger pieces requiring your larger kiln.
For a digital kiln that can do this much, the Caldera is a bargain!
“I love, love, love the Caldera. I not only fuse glass and work in metal clay, but I teach a lot of classes, so I'm firing the kiln all the time. It is a true workhorse. In three years I have not had one problem with it. I have done drop ring vases, small pot melts, small dishes, and candleholders in it.”

In the US, the Caldera is modular, so the base, body, and lid are all separate parts and the lid can just lift off (leaving live elements exposed). UK and EU safety regulations requires a safety switch which will cut off the power to the elements if the kiln is opened. All Caldera kilns sold by us come with this additional lid tilt-switch, and the lid is attached with a hinge on the main body section.
"I purchased a Paragon Caldera with a digital controller. I am a hobbyist making small jewelry pieces, beads, and buttons. My ceramic buttons and beads are handmade with stoneware clay fired to cone 6. I must tell you, I am SO pleased with my baby kiln. It does a beautiful job every time and is so easy to run. I love it and will recommend one to whoever asks! Thank you for putting out such a great product!"

Strong lap joints
To strengthen the firing chamber, the firebrick corners are fitted together with L-shaped notches. This type of joint lasts longer than the butted joint and the "picture frame" mitred joint found on competitive brands. The base is versatile and can be flipped if one side is damaged.
Thermocouple with “special limit” wire
The thermocouple senses temperature inside the kiln. It is the small rod that extends into the firing chamber. The ¼” wide Type-K, 14-gauge, exposed-tip thermocouple is made with special-limit wire for superior accuracy. The exposed tip gives the controller a fast response time for even temperatures during holds.
Designed for production
Paragon’s warranty is not affected by frequency of use. Fire your new kiln every day if you want, even in commercial settings. That will have no effect on the warranty period.
"In my opinion the Caldera digital is the number one choice for multi-purpose firing arts. We originally purchased it to fuse Dichroic glass jewelry but were quickly able to expand our product line to include Fine Silver, Copper, Bronze and other mixed metals, Annealing of Lamp worked Beads and Boro marbles, Raku and Ceramics, and Enameling with the help of this versatile kiln. I prefer a brick kiln for firing the newer versions of high fire metal clays requiring temps over 1030°C. The Caldera has a great sized chamber for the stainless steel containers used to hold the carbon required for the base metal clays; plus the top loading chamber makes adding additional carbon into a hot steel container safer and easier than with a front loading kiln when performing two part base metal firings. Don't get me wrong, I love my SC-2 muffle kiln, but there are just some things at which I feel my Caldera is better. For the price you can't go wrong for this much durability and versatility."

Epic little Kiln
I absolutely love this, top loading so really easy to check all your work before firing , super easy to use and very very good controller, I’ve not connected it to my phone yet but it’s just a very impressive little kiln at a very respectable price Fires up to ceramics too for great versatility
