Product Description
Gloves in a bottle - protecting your hands from external stress like alcohol gel or washing. Ideal if you struggle with eczema or cracked skin. No more stained fingers when making jewellery!
Gloves in a bottle works with the skin to form a protective hydrating shield that won't wash or rub off, it remains in place for up to 4 hours. It is a wonderful shielding and protecting hand lotion, protecting your skin from external stress factors. Gloves in a Bottle is fantastic for protecting your hands from drying out during hand washing, or if you suffer from dry sensitive skin, eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis.
Keep "bad things" out, and good things (like moisture) in - perfect when gardening, working with metal clay, or other crafts. If you wash your hands a lot, this can save your skin from drying out and cracking. Unscented, non-greasy, non-sticky, and super-light so you wont feel it on your skin.
GIVE YOUR SKIN A CHANCE TO REPAIR ITSELF
While conventional moisturisers coat your skin (often with petroleum or wax-based substances that can clog pores and inhibit the skin’s ability to breathe), this cream lets the skin breathe and perspire naturally, while reducing moisture loss. It literally becomes part of the outer layer of skin, so it doesn't wash off (it comes off naturally as your skin exfoliates). In fact, Gloves In A Bottle was made to protect against the drying effects of repeated hand washings or high exposure to water and detergents. Doctors, dentists, nurses and other people who need to wash their hands a lot are protected. For continued protection, just reapply to clean dry skin every 3 to 4 hours.
- For metal clay artists it is great for protecting your skin and avoiding stained nails when working with base metal clays. Apply a small amount before you start working, especially under your nails, and your skin will be as if covered by a invisible (and un-feelable) glove!
- If you paint, or work with other crafts, the Gloves in a Bottle gives your skin an extra protective layer.
Top-Tip from Petra based on her totally unscientific observances: If your hands are really dry (like mine were), start out with using a good quality moisturising hand cream (avoid waxes and paraffin based ones) under the Gloves in a bottle for extra support under the protection. Within a short time of use you'll be able to drop the moisturiser and your skin will be in much better condition.
Gloves In A Bottle contains no known irritating substances, including fragrances - it is completely hypoallergenic and non-toxic. All the ingredients are on the FDA’s most ‘safe list’.
Re-apply every 3-4 hours.

HOW IS GLOVES IN A BOTTLE DIFFERENT FROM CONVENTIONAL LOTIONS AND CREAMS?
Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion. It bonds with the outer-most layer of skin, locking in natural moisture and oils. The loss of our natural oils and moisture is the main cause of dry and irritated skin. If this process can be slowed down the skin has a better chance to heal.
Unlike contemporary skin moisturisers which try to replace the skin’s natural moisture with an artificial often greasy moisture, Gloves In A Bottle bonds with dead skin cells to create a protective hydrating shield, similar to an invisible pair of gloves. This new outer layer helps prevent the loss of natural oil and moisture, supports skin elasticity, and improves the overall ability of the epidermis to protect the inner skin cell layers. The natural moisturising effects of Gloves In A Bottle will leave your skin soft and supple.
While conventional moisturisers, lotions and skin creams coat your skin with petroleum or wax-based substances that tend to clog pores and inhibit the skin’s ability to breathe and perspire, Gloves In A Bottle functions so well that the skin breathes and perspires naturally.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR SKIN'S NATURAL OIL IS STRIPPED AWAY?
When the natural oils are stripped away from the outer layer of skin, the skin’s own moisture quickly leaves the outer layer resulting in dry, irritated or itchy skin. The deeper layers of skin are left exposed to a host of damaging, everyday substances including many cosmetics, detergents, anti-bacterial soaps, solvents, cleaners, gardening chemicals, dirt and grease, latex glove powder, and more. The result is skin that is more dry, irritated, or itchy and more susceptible to becoming cracked and further damaged.
Conventional moisturisers, lotions and handcreams only attempt to replace natural moisture with artificial moisture. They mask the symptoms by offering temporary relief that does little to heal the skin. Regular use of conventional moisturizers, lotions and skin creams can actually send the wrong message to the skin (that there is enough moisture present), causing it to produce less natural moisture.
Natural moisture is the only thing that is going to truly resolve a dry skin condition.
