Wayne Werner Bench Lathe Polishing Kit
This kit was developed by Wayne Werner, a jeweller, craftsman and Foredom demonstrator, to include an assortment of polishing accessories perfect for Foredom’s bench lathe. Remove scratches, polish and finish pewter and precious metals, and clean the insides of rings as well as solder joints.
Includes:
- 42 x 3M Radial Bristle Discs 3” - 6 x of each grit - 80, 120, 220, 400, 1200, 3,000, 14,000
- 9 x Spindle adapters with 3/8” hole. 2 x right, 7 x left
- 2 x Soft Cotton Buffing Wheels 3”
- 2 x Square Edge Solid Felt Buffs 3”
- 1 x Platinum Blue polishing compound - 5oz
- 1 x Platinum White polishing compound - 5.75oz
How to use:
3M Radial Bristle Discs
Max. Speed rating varies by grit: 80 Grit: 3,000-15,000, 120, 220 and 400 Grit: 3,000-18,000, 1200, 3,000 and 14,000 Grit: 1,750-7,500.
These radial bristle discs are embedded with aluminium oxide and 3M Cubitron which give sharp edges and apply a continuous supply of abrasive mineral while using. The flexible bristles reach into grooves, polish contours and flat areas. As the bristles are abrasive, they do not require compounds. Attach all 6 multiple radial bristles of the same grit to an included spindle. Ensure all face the same direction.
Soft Cotton and Square Edge Solid Felt Buffing Wheels
Use the cotton buffs for final polishing with either included compound. The Square Edge buffs can polish grooves and crevices. The pin hole centres allow you to mount directly onto tapered spindles.
Platinum Blue polishing compound - for pre-polishing metals, or final polishing of acrylic.
Platinum White polishing compound - for final polishing of precious metals inc. platinum, gold, silver.
