Wanaree Tanner Die Cut Roller - Granulation Set, 6 beautiful designs that are calibrated to both sculpt, and cut out, unique elements in one fluid move.
Wanaree Tanner’s Quality Die Cut Rollers can be used to create a completely symmetrical design in one swift swoop with minimal refining needed! These rollers are ideal for creating bezels for stones, or decorative design elements - you can cut the strips up into individual parts or use them whole.
To use, place the Die Cut Roller onto the Die Cut Roller Handle with the alignment edge (flat edge) facing outwards and place the black O-ring onto the Roller Handle flush against the alignment edge. Use the brush tip on the Wanaree Tanner Eco Release Pen and brush the lubricant vigorously over the Die Cut Roller and any parts of the roller that may touch the clay such as the barrel cap. Ensure you get into all the small indents and do this a few times around the roller, two clicks of the pen should be plenty as too much lubricant can affect the design.
Once your clay has been rolled out onto your work surface to the thickness recommend for the specific Die Cut Roller (on tin), hold the roller at a 45 degree angle and press the roller against the clay keeping an even pressure and speed, you can roll towards or away from yourself. To get a completely straight design line the alignment edge up with a straight object such as a ruler.
Once the design has been cut, use a needle tool or a straight flat blade to remove the excess clay from the design being careful not to damage the design itself.
These Die Cut Rollers are produced in small artisanal batches and each die is hand finished by Wanaree herself. Fashioned in sturdy, luminous bronze, these are said to be the finest tools ever created for metal clay; and having used them ourselves here in our studio, we can vouch for that. They really are SO lovely to work with!
The calibrated cutter allow you to get clean and consistent results, time after time. Unlike other circle cutting tools, these are sharpened, graduated and designed specifically for fine scale metal clay and jewellery work!
The cutters are 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm to produce precision sized discs that you can easily incorporate into your metal clay work.
They pair beautifully with Wanaree's Signature Die Cut Tools to produce perfectly domed granulation with flat backs for easy attachment. Incorporate these granules or discs into your pieces for a highly refined, detailed result without the headache of soldering or hand rolling tiny elements.

*These tools are handmade by Wanaree and her small team in small artisanal batches, so the handles can sometimes have small nicks and imperfections. This does not affect the tool in anyway and they are made the same great standard as all of Wanaree's tools.
