cufflink creator
I'm disappointed with this--not as easy as it looks in the video. I found it difficult to fill the deeper parts of the mould completely as air gets trapped behind the clay and tricky to separate the two halves to clean of the excess. It uses a lot of clay. ********RESPONSE FROM METAL CLAY ******** Hi Hilary, sorry to hear you're disappointed in the cufflink creator. We have customers who love to be able to create their own cufflink without needing soldering, and to be able to make it in any metals using base metal clay. You need to roll out the clay 6mm thick - this ensures a thick and strong piece which will stand up to wear and tear. To separate the mould halves, use a fine spatula or back of a kidney scraper - something that isn't too sharp which could scratch your mould. It is very important pieces are completely dry - use a hot plate or dehydrator. If you get in touch with us and let us know what you're having problems with, we can hopefully help you.

disappointed
I was very disappointed with this mould. It looks so easy in the video. I've tried at least a dozen times to get it to work like that without success. The clay doesn't fill the small spaces as air gets trapped when the two halves are pressed together. When the mould is separated to trim off the excess, the clay pulls out unevenly so it's impossible to get it back to rejoin the two halves. It is difficult to get the dry finding out of the mould—the lugs that hold the swivel bar break off very easily. It uses a lot of clay. To cut out the three pieces using the template you need to start with at least 20g of clay. The dry components, before firing, weigh over 6g. If you add a cuff link on top of the finding it would almost certainly end up near 8g so, if you plan to sell the finished item, it would have to be hallmarked.

easier than it looks
Love this cufflink creator. Minimal wastage of those ever expensive metal clays. Easy to use, easy to clean to avoid cross contamination of different clays. Coupled with the cufflink blank creator it's a great little tool to get perfect cufflinks every time
