This hand guard is an essential safety measure if you prefer to carve without a bench hook.
It allows you to push the carving tool towards your hand holding the carving block, while preventing injury. Hold the guard at the corner closest to the area being cut. Any slippage is caught in the upright walls of the guard. Ergonomic for a wide range of hand sizes, and ambidextrous.
