Oval Fine Silver Stone Setting Bezel Cup - 14mm x 10mm
Give your stones the stunning setting they deserve, and do it with ease. This is a plain round fine silver bezel cup measuring 14x10mm in diameter and a wall height of approx. 2.5mm.
Perfect for setting natural gemstones, porcelain cabochons, and other stones that cannot be fired with your clay. Set glass cabochons, flat-back stones, or crystals. This easy-to-use bezel cup will save you time and give you a professional finish with clean lines.
Use it for everything from earrings to cuff links to pendants. The wall height might need to be adjusted to fit your stone; you can easily file or sand the top edge of the wall as necessary.
As this is fine silver it can safely be fired with silverclay. To set the bezel cup with silver clay you can;
- simply roughen up the back of it and press into silver clay when wet
- carve out an area in the dry clay add some paste, and drop the bezel in
- solder the cup on after firing
If setting on wet clay, you can drill a hole in the bottom of the bezel cup and push it into the wet clay so that the clay bulges up through the hole. This will create a mechanical bond, like a kind of rivet, securing the bezel cup.
Size:
Oval - 14mm x 10mm
Height of wall - 2.61mm (0.1") approximately. The wall height might need to be adjusted to fit your stone; you can easily file or sand the top edge of the wall as necessary.
Please note:
Bezel cups may be slightly oversized - building up an undersized stone is easier than forcing a bezel to accept a stone which is too large. Due to stone-cutting tolerances, this cup may not fit all stones sized 14 x 10mm.
